Had a chance to check out the D700 this weekend at a conference I was at. Really nice camera think it will be my next. These shots are not edited, just cropped, sharpened and converted for web. Lighting was natural light and an SB800 on a bracket.

I know the feeling .... a month after I bought my D1H, they released the D2H. Six weeks after I bought my second D200, they released the D300 ...

Thanks for sharing Sean. The images look great. Nice models too.

 I figure that camera would just let me take bad pictures at a higher resolution.

I still want one.

I appreciate your sense of humor Todd. When D200's were in short supply, I had commited myself to anything that came in. Well, that was then, and this is two D300's later. 8 digital camera bodies is enough!! I don't care what they're gonna do next! Just don't tell the wife I'm on B&H's list for a D700!

thanks deb and all...I am editting them today :) I just wanted to post pretty much out of the camera since it does a pretty nice job. Of course trying to work the raws has been fun since the camera is not out for another few weeks and LR and CS3 don't suppor the file yet, I had to get Capture NX2 and convert to tif for it.

These images look fantastic for being straight out of the camera. However, great lighting, good composition, and a good looking models don't hurt either. I think a good portion of the quality of the images is the person behind the camera.

Wow those models look familiar. And the Nikon rep looks like he missed his calling.

Great shots Sean, I am starting to go through mine tonight.

D700 is looking good. Glad I can't afford it.

Frank you caught me being lazy haha...I had just put the SB800 and bracket on the camera and I snuck this picture as my first shot, I ended up capturing part of another Nikon rep to the right of him so rather than PPin him out I just cropped haha. He never even knew I took this shot, had to send it to him since he liked it :)

It appears that B&H Photo has these in stock.

That's cool.

Fixed link. (sorry)

I just hope the 5D replacement can compete with the modern alternatives. I'm not switching from Canon anytime soon, but really feel left in the dust this year. :(
