8.5” HIGH OUTPUT REFLECTOR
This product is ready for production and should be available during first week December 2009. The 8.5” reflector produces a narrower beam (45°) than our standard 7” 80° wide angle reflector and it produces about 1 f-stop more light on the subject. We are in the process of making honeycomb grids for this reflector. The 8.5” reflector is an excellent choice for general-purpose lighting due to its high efficiency and very smooth feathered pattern.
11” LONG THROW REFLECTOR
We have received and tested final pre-production samples of the 11LTR and have approved it for production. Compared to our current 11R reflector, the 11LTR produces about 40% more light output (+4/10f) and produces very even coverage over its 28° beam width, with less light outside of its illuminated area. Thus the 11LTR is ideal for sports lighting such as basketball, etc. Shipping is anticipated during first week December 2009.
As a general note, all new Paul C. Buff reflectors incorporate grid-holding capabilities. It takes about two to three months to get grids sampled and into production. We are in the process of sampling a number of grids of different beam widths for all new reflectors in progress. It should be noted that grid material for narrow angle grids in larger diameters is rather expensive so we are evaluating what cost vs. performance will yield optimal products for our customers.
