Our white TWB umbrella offers two qualities of light: it can be used as a “shoot-thru” umbrella to diffuse the light source, or used as a soft white bounce umbrella with its removable black cover in place.
The opaque black cover arrives in place on the unit. With the cover left in place, the umbrella serves to bounce light, providing a soft white bounce to brighten the total scene. This cover can be removed by gently pulling the white caps off of each umbrella spoke. With the cover removed, you can point your flash unit towards your subject and shoot through the translucent white material for a diffused, soft light source. This diffusion will minimize the shadows on your subject and create a large wash of soft light.
Our umbrellas mount simply to all Paul C. Buff™ flash units, with or without the use of a reflector, for heightened bounce or bare bulb configuration. The umbrellas are additionally fashioned with long poles to easily adjust the distance between the light source and the umbrella. For travel, the umbrellas collapse traditionally and can be fastened closed when not in use.
